A class trip to Frilandsmusee:
Waiting for the train. I am terrible at getting pictures of people. Luckily paparazzi Ryan here is constantly getting candid shots.
The tour guides dress up in their old timey attire.
This place had old buildings from all across Denmark and Sweden and Germany (The parts that used to be part of Denmark) They spend millions to transport these houses and reassemble them here.
Back then the women stood for dinner, they made a giant thing of rugbrød that would last them a month, they kept a huge pile of animal and some human shit meters away from where they slept and ate (to show off their wealth) and they drank beer instead of water. The water was unsanitary so it was safer to brew it into beer first.
A fancy house with its own crapping seat.
I loved this goat.
This bus was parked in a parking lot right next to my building.
We met up with several of Lilli's friends from London. They were fun, but we all kept getting separated.
Tivoli had a lot of fun rides. Most memorable were the falling ride, because you get a great view of the city, and the airplane ride. Its just an airplane on a swivel that flies in a loop over and over. But it goes so fast that you are pressed against your seat, wind stretching your face. Once someone hit and killed a seagull with their face, but they were ok after going to the hospital.
The ride we most wanted to go on was the swing ride. Just one of those normal swing rides that go in circles, but it goes really high up, probably giving an amazing spinning view. We were sitting in the seats when they told us it wasn't working. =(
Heres a random fountain from within Tivoli, the only picture that came out.
Afterwards we decided to buy some Akvavit at the 7-11 while we waited for everyone to regroup.
Akvavit and Faxe Kondi. A terrible/wonderful combination. I still don't know what to think about Akvavit.
Drinking out of stolen 7-11 cups in front of the city center. The four of us finished off the bottle.
Oh, I guess you readers may not know. This is Max, Lilli, and Sam.
We then met up with the British girls and headed off to a bar. A lot of the bars here look small, but then have secret basements with a huge dancefloor. Fun was had by all.
We somehow lost Lilli and Sam when the British girls wanted a 10 kr hamburger from McDonalds. McDonald's may very well now be my new favorite drunken fast food. (I only eat fast food with the aid of alcohol) I don't understand why they are never open late in the US. Why would you ever go there before midnight?
The girls in front of H.C.A
We walked back to Tietgen with them. They wanted to ride our bicycles. My chain fell off and got jammed.
It wasn't until I left everyone at Tietgen and tried to fix my bike that I realized it was really stuck. I would be bikeless for 5 days. A truly horrible thing in København.
I will leave you with a 'trip' through the Hans Christian Anderson ride. It's basically like the It's a Small World of Tivoli.
Goodbye Hans!
